Process Piping Specialization
Oil and natural gas furnish about three-fourths of the world's energy needs. In addition, they provide the raw materials for plastics, chemicals, medicines, fertilizers, and synthetic fibers. Because oil and gas are difficult to locate, exploration and drilling are key activities in the oil and gas extraction industry.
Engineering CAD Technicians with the Process Piping Specialization work along side with petroleum engineers to search the world for reservoirs containing oil or natural gas. They also work with geologists and other specialists to understand the geologic setting and properties of the rock containing the reservoir, determine the drilling methods to be used, and monitor drilling and production operations. They design and draft equipment and processes to achieve the maximum profitable recovery of oil and gas, often using computer models to simulate reservoir performance using different recovery techniques.
Gaming and Animation Design Specialization

We usually think of animation in association with entertainment-crazy cartoon characters or incredible sequences in films that were done on large computers. But there are other uses as well - sports, medicine, industrial design, scientific research, military training and strategizing, and more.
Regardless of the purpose of the animation, the four major steps that are usually followed are storyboarding, which is a visual script for the animation sequence; modeling, which is used to convert real objects to animated objects and control how animated objects behave; scripting and movement control, methods to make motions work for their dramatic purpose; and rendering, which is the process of making objects appear lifelike by manipulating such things as light, shadow, and transparency.
Sustainable Design Specialization

Every day across the world, people use their talents and passion to solve design challenges in a way that preserves resources and protects the planet for future generations. Autodesk is working with the world's leading architects, engineers, and product designers to drive awareness and increase adoption of sustainable design principles. By providing software that can be used to predict a design's performance, we can help customers incorporate sustainable design principles into their practice, contributing to a cleaner and healthier environment.
Autodesk's software helps make sustainable design easier and more efficient across industries. The benefits include
- Substantial reductions of material waste
- Increased energy efficiency
- More accurate evaluation of project lifecycles
- Significant reduction of time, resources, and costs necessary to create truly sustainable buildings and products
